The 2024 690 Enduro R is driven by a 692.7 cc LC4 single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine that strikes a great balance between torque and rev-happy performance. It offers powerful low-end punch while still free revving when you open it up. The bike benefits from dual balancer shafts that reduce vibration, a lightweight forged piston and well-designed conrods to reduce reciprocating mass — all of which contribute to smoother running and sharper response. Ride-by-wire throttle, twin ignition (two spark plugs), and electronic fuel injection add to precise power delivery, reduced emissions, and better fuel economy. Service intervals are generous, helping lower running costs.

The 690 Enduro R features a rugged but agile chrome-moly tubular space frame, paired with a WP XPLOR 48 mm upside-down fork up front and a WP XPLOR rear shock via Pro-Lever linkage. Both ends offer long travel (~250 mm), giving it excellent bump absorption, ground clearance, and handling on rough terrain. Spoked wheels (21" front / 18" rear) with quality tires give both durability and grip across mixed surfaces. Brembo brakes (300 mm front / 240 mm rear discs) ensure strong stopping power. The chassis is tuned to balance off-road performance without losing control or feel on pavement.

On the tech side, the 2024 690 Enduro R packs in ride-by-wire throttle control, selectable ride modes (Street and Off-road), ABS including Off-road ABS, and Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) with lean-angle sensitivity. You can disable certain systems for more control when off-road. A slipper (Power Assist) clutch helps with smoother downshifts. Ergonomically, it offers a tall seat height (around 929 mm), “no-dirt” footpegs (designed not to accumulate debris), an under-seat airbox for easier access to the filter in the field, a slimline dashboard to keep visibility high, and tapered handlebars with some vibration isolation to reduce rider fatigue.
